The time relay is used for gradual switching of loads: electric boilers, furnaces, room heaters, etc., thus preventing current surges in the network and tripping the circuit breaker due to large voltage spikes.

It can also be used to coordinate the activation time of several devices in machines, equipment, or other hardware.

The time relay is mounted on a standard 35 mm DIN rail
